We have played with the following bands and performers and are pleased to link to them from our site:

Elm Singers

The Elm Singers are  group of twenty adults, experienced singers who come together for occasional concerts under the baton of John Webber. They sing mainly unaccompanied music such as Elizabethan madrigals and motets, Victorian part-songs and even occasional items by Carey Blyton! Many of the members of the Choir are capable soloists and have their chance to shine in the Choir’s performances. The Beckenham Choirs have twice sung with the Elm Singers, latterly in May 2007 at Beckenham Methodist Church.

Crystal Palace Band

Our first concert with this popular brass band was in 2002 when we performed together to celebrate Beckenham’s Famous at St. Georges Church. Since then we have sung together at St. James' Church in 2007, We will be performing together on November 22nd 2008 at Christ Church Beckenham to pay tribute to an even wider range of Beckenham's Famous.

Amici Cantantes

In January 2011 we sang Evensong at Rochester Cathedral to make a 98 strong choir with the "Amici Cantantes".

DSC-0303sml

This is a posh Latin name for "Singing Friends" and John gathers lots of musical contacts from hither and thither to come together every two years to sing Evensong in Southwark or Rochester Cathedral on a Saturday afternoon on minimum rehearsal. We usually have 100 or so taking part. This has happened every other year since 1999. The regular organist is Graham Powell, organist of St. Peter's Church at Limpsfield in Surrey.

Blackheath Baroque

Blackheath Baroque meets weekly.  About twelve adults play string and wind instruments and they concentrate on older methods of performing, using pieces of music composed before 1800.  When they joined us in July 2011, they performed a recently discovered concerto by Antonio Vivaldi, who died in 1741. The director of the group is Lisete da Silva.
